Tornado Yachting becomes Jeanneau partner
Makkum - Tornado Yachting will become a Jeanneau partner. This means that sailing yachts from this well-known French brand will now also be available for sale in Makkum through the tried-and-tested Buy & Charter concept. And that Tornado Yachting's charter fleet will be expanded with Jeanneau sailing yachts.
Due to its location near the Wadden Sea, Tornado Yachting has focused on the sale and rental of keel/midship sailing yachts. The focus will therefore be on the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 319, 349, 389 and 410 which have this facility. Work will begin as early as next year to expand the charter fleet to include Jeanneau, which currently consists of Delphia sailing and motor yachts. Jurre Jan Muurling of Tornado Yachting: "Jeanneau is part of Groupe Bénéteau, which acquired Delphia this spring. Delphia stopped building sailing yachts. Some models are almost identical. Like the Delphia 31, which is now the Jeanneau 319. A modern hull with a nod. This as well as the 349 and the 389 will join our fleet next year. In the future, the fleet will be predominantly Jeanneau. Except for the motorboats, which are built by Delphia, and we will also continue to sell and rent them. Nautisch Kwartier Stavoren was looking for a partner to exclusively include Jeanneau sailing yachts in its charter fleet and expand it to a Jeanneau charter base."
Because Tornado Yachting's charter fleet will partly consist of Jeanneau sailing yachts in the future, you can speak of a sailing showroom, where you can first rent the yacht for a weekend, week or longer before buying it. In this context, Tornado Yachting also offers the Buy & Charter concept. Meant for people who buy a boat, use it themselves for a few weeks a year and rent it out further, thus making a return. Muurling: "More and more people are opting for this. The boat is maintained by us and always looks neat and ready to sail. You can get away with it yourself and the investment yields more than at the bank."
"Moreover, the fact that we have become Jeanneau partners has to do with the customer base we have built up over the years. Tornado Yachting is known for its Delphia sailing yachts that can be dry-docked. Especially our dryfall weekend is highly appreciated and attracts many Wadden sailors. We want to offer our customers an alternative to the Delphia sailing yachts that are no longer being built. That Jeanneau has also been building sailing yachts that can dry-fall for years is not even known to many sailors. As Tornado Yachting has built up a large customer base in this segment, we want to be able to continue serving our customers. This applies to Buy & Charter as well as to customers who have always been able to buy their sailing yacht from Tornado Yachting. Moreover, there is a cross connection. For Nautical Quarter customers who want to switch to a Delphia motorboat.
Meanwhile, the first Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 389 has been sold and will be available for rent from next spring. It can also be used for dry landings, lifting the keel when the tide is in and can also be sailed leisurely through Friesland and to Terschelling and Vlieland via Kornwerderzand and the inlet.
