Tornado Sailing Makkum B.V., trading as Tornado Yachting, was created in 1992 from the merger of five Sneker yacht charter companies: Van der Meulen, Moed, Frisia Yachtcharter, Tornado Yachting and Gessport. Through this merger, Tornado Yachting immediately grew into a leading player in Frisian water sports, with an extensive customer base and a modern charter fleet.
To meet the increasing demand for larger charter boats, we moved to our current location in Makkum in 2007. Here, at a unique location on the IJsselmeer, the Frisian Lakes and the Wadden Sea, we could continue to build on quality, innovation and service.
In 2012, I, Jurre-Jan Muurling, took over Tornado Yachting. At the time, the charter fleet consisted of six boats and the focus was on selling Delphia Yachts. We have since grown into a full-service water sports company with:
